Puranchandra Computer Society, as it was formerly known when first initiated by Akanksha Gautam and Akash Gupta. Since the first Computer Carnival in 2008 at Puranchandra Vidyaniketan, not only has the society changed in its structure, popularity but also in its nomenclature, now it is called PCVN Information and Technology Society or PITS.
The Society encourages its members to explore various technologies and software’s, with every possible encouragement to develop unique programs not just for competitions but also for other events like the Annual Day.
Puranchandra Vidyaniketan’s Eleventh computer carnivalC²2017,: Puranchandra Vidyaniketan’s Thirteenth computer carnival C²2019, an annual Techno-Savvy event, was organized at various venues at the school campus. With newer events, and enterprising participants like never, ten schools from Kanpur and Lucknow displayed their tech-skills during the carnival.Mr. Mahesh Vaidya, President of Cyber Security and Forensics at ECS Corporation Ahmedabad obliged to preside over the ceremony. He inaugurated the event by lighting the sacred lamp.Mr Vaidya apprised the students of the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence and its pros and cons. He made them alert about the cyber-risks like Phishing and Data Manipulation. Mr Vaidya emphasized upon the IT knowledge as integral part of learning in the present era along with growing need of data-safety in view of increasing e-communication and e-commerce. Principal of the School, Mrs. Sobhana Mukherjee lauded the initiative of the young for the young to extend the reach of the students to all avenues of computing, making Computer Carnival unique in the context of being the only tech-skill focused event.
The Carnival began with Softstruct, Animate a Minute, 3Dfy, IT Quiz, Extreme Pursuit and Robo Tumble and the competition took off in full vigor with Revelation, Web-D, Minute Counts,Mystery Event and Acoustic Chemistry in the Post-Lunch session making the campus abuzz with action.
The winners of the various events were felicitated with prizes by the Principal of the school Mrs. Sobhana Mukherjee. The arena resonated with a round of applause and appreciation as Delhi Public School, Azad Nagarretained the overall winner’s trophy with the second and the third position going to Harmilap Mission |School and Sir PadampatSinghania Education Centre respectively.
